Heritage and Evolution feature in the history of Burkett Quicksign.
Pete Burkett started his own business in the sign trade in 1956 with signwriting commercial customers signs & vehicles. In those days the tools of the trade were a box of paints, a chalk line, a mahl stick and the best brushes you could afford.
Innate artistic talent and a good eye are the values that added to our success. Pete & Chris had those in spades from the beginning, as they developed a father/son partnership. These qualities carry on within our business now and are the same today. They are the ones we look for in our current staff, although the tools we work with have changed somewhat. Chris Burkett took the business forward with the introduction of computerization in the 80’s which changed the speed with which jobs could get done.
And so Burkett Quicksign was born.
From humble beginnings in a workshop attached to the house, to responding to the 80’s boom by moving to premises in Attercliffe. Our premises near the M1, with internal workshop space large enough to allow 40’container trucks to be lettered, proved to be a great selling point.
The business thrived on good customer relationships and outstanding service. These are the values and qualities we carry forward.
We have been fortunate to have the support of great staff over the 30 plus years and we are grateful for their hard work and commitment.
As a company we have constantly updated and invested in the latest equipment. We run a suite of pc’s with an Eco friendly wide format digital printer terminal and machinery that keeps pace with current trends in the sign business. The production team work on our mezzanine floor, in a Covid friendly environment. They work to the highest quality on a range of projects from vehicle labelling to 11 metre hoarding panel prints and everything sign related in between
Resilience and fortitude have set Burketts apart as a company, transitioning and surviving four recessions by continuing throughout to uphold excellent service and strong customer-focused values. It takes a certain amount of tenacity to get through difficult times, times like those we’re in right now. As a company we also know that reliability is a key factor in continued success. Looking at the longevity of our customer base, they would agree.
The good news for our industry is that logistics have never been busier. Buying fleets and increasing brand visibility with stunning graphic livery sits well in this fast-moving marketplace. Burkett Quicksign are well placed to meet these needs, so get in touch with us today to talk about all your branding and signage requirements.
We look forward to hearing from you.
